Doctoral Colloquium

The Spanish Association of Academic and Professional Marketing (AEMARK), in collaboration with the University of Murcia, is organizing the X Doctoral Colloquium for PhD students in marketing as an integrated activity in the 36th AEMARK International Marketing Conference 2025.

The Doctoral Colloquium will take place on the 17th of September 2025. The Doctoral Colloquium offers PhD students in Marketing the opportunity to share their research with established researchers from Spanish and foreign universities, as well as other PhD students. The main objective is to contribute to increasing the impact of research results, improving the professional performance of doctoral students and their productivity, promoting the development of participants’ competences and their ability to interact with other researchers.

Students will be able to register regardless of the stage of their dissertation. However, to in order maximize the benefits of the Doctoral Colloquium, submissions where data collection has not yet taken place are particularly encouraged.

Participants will receive a certificate of attendance at the end of the Doctoral Colloquium. It is possible to attend the Doctoral Colloquium a maximum of two times, but only one financial support will be accepted.

Candidates should send a summary of the dissertation project, in English or Spanish, including:

  • Description of the research problem and review of the most relevant literature 
  • Key references
  • Objectives of the dissertation project
  • Outline or description of the proposed methodology
  • Presentation of preliminary results (if available)
  • Progress of the thesis
  • Description of the activities carried out, the activities planned until the end of the thesis and the expected delivery date.

The total length of the abstract will be 5 pages, including: cover page, title, content, references, tables and figures. The title of the project and the name of the candidate and the director/s will appear on the cover page.

Proposals must also be accompanied by the participant’s curriculum vitae.

The Doctoral Colloquium will be take place on 17 September 2025.

The period for submitting proposals to participate in the Doctoral Colloquium starts on March 24th and ends on May 2nd

The proposals will be evaluated by a committee composed of the researchers who will participate in the sessions and by the designated coordinator.

Doctoral Colloquium registration fee

 PhD Students 

 130 € 

The registration fee includes: 

  • Access to the Doctoral Colloquium sessions
  • Presentation and discussion of the thesis project
  • Working lunch
  • Full access to the conference (including lunches, dinners, and social activities)
  • The Doctoral Colloquium sessions are restricted to the doctoral students registered for the Doctoral Colloquium or the Conference and to the senior researchers.
  • The PhD students registered for the Doctoral Colloquium to present their thesis project may also submit and present (in case of acceptance) a paper, work in progress, or poster at the Conference, provided they are the first author and accompanied by their thesis supervisor(s).
  • Those PhD students registered for the Conference who wish to attend the Doctoral Colloquium without presenting their dissertation project must send an application to aemark25@aemark.org before  June 6th, confirming payment of the Conference fee and their status as PhD students.
  • We expect PhD students to be physically present at the Doctoral Colloquium and will not facilitate online presentations.

AEMARK and the conference organizing committee are committed to this activity and will therefore provide resources in the form of grants to subsidize participation in the Conference. Thus, AEMARK is offering 8 grants to cover the registration fee for the Doctoral Colloquium.

The criteria for awarding these grants will be the candidate’s CV and the interest of the proposal. Presentation and discussion in English will be also considered as an additional criterion.
